Chuck

I need a new windlass. The boat is 39' trawler with no upper helm, weighs appx 26,000 lbs and currently have 185 ft of chain, no rode. Many choices on the market, have you got any suggestions or thoughts. Currently using a manual windlass.

Carolina, I assume you will be replacing it with an electric. The Lofrans horizontal line is one of my favorites and I would recommend the Tigress for your boat. Be sure whatever you buy that it is installed correctly and most important, the gypsy sized for the chain you will use.
